The aim of the awareness programme titled “Beyond Stereotypes: Men’s Wellbeing and Rights in a Gender-Sensitive Society”, organized on 27th November 2025 in observance of International Men’s Day, was to highlight and address the often-overlooked issues related to men’s mental health, emotional wellbeing, and legal rights within a gender-sensitive societal framework.
The programme sought to challenge prevailing stereotypes, promote balanced gender discourse, and encourage informed dialogue on wellbeing, fairness, and inclusivity. By bringing together legal and psychological expertise, the event aimed to enhance awareness, foster empathy, and support holistic understanding of gender dynamics among students and faculty members.
The expert address by Adv. Kritika Sharma, Advocate at the Delhi High Court, provided valuable insights into men’s legal rights, remedies, and the importance of gender sensitivity in ensuring justice, while reinforcing that recognition of men’s issues complements broader gender equality. Dr. Priyanka Verma, Head of Department, AIBAS, Amity University Haryana, offered a comprehensive psychological perspective on men’s mental health, societal pressures, and the need for emotional awareness and open communication.
