Cryptocurrency-An Overview
Amity University Haryana created an opportunity for students to learn about future currency "Crypto Currency" by organising a guest lecture by an eminent speaker Col(Dr) Inderjeet Singh,Cheif CCO & CIO, Vara Technologies on 8th Feburary 2022.The speaker is an expert in the field of Cryptocurrency,Cyber security.
The main objective of this session was to brief students about Cryptocurrency and understand its operations in the virtual world, and its future perspective. Along with this, another aim was to make the students aware and inspire them to understand the future of cryptocurrency.
The whole session was very well planned by Col (Dr) Inderjeet Singh. He deliberated many important points: Cryptocurrencies are non-regulated online currencies, which derive its value through transactions involving buyers and sellers, which constitutes its demand and supply, it is based on blockchain technology, a type of online ledger which records every transaction wherein own’s entry only can be entered while others entry can be viewed and tracked. Dr. Inderjeet explained in detail, its transaction mechanism, exchanges, mining mechanism and how it can be converted into regular currencies. Mr. Singh cautioned how it can be manipulated by hackers and be channelled for money laundering, he also explained safeguards for transacting in cryptocurrencies like keeping its account with exchanges, operating account through mobile apps, kiosks and its ATM also. He elaborated the online genuine sites like apple pay who transacts in cryptocurrencies. The last phase was the Q&A session in which he openly interacted with students and answered their questions. In the end, event coordinators thanked Dr. Inderjeet Singh for his time and words of wisdom. Finally, the session completed with closing remark by Mr. Manoj Sahani, Director AUH CRC and Thanksgiving by Dr. Ruby Singh, Senior Manager, AUH CRC.
