Amity University Haryana, organized a guest lecture “Hospitality Industry- Trends and Opportunities” on 28th Feb 2022. With an eminent expert Vikramjit Singh, President, Lemon Tree Group of Hotels. Vikramjit Singh is known to AUH CRC for the last couple of years as man of prominence in Hospitality sector space. He is an established leader working with Indian Hospitality sector known for strategizing growth in hospitality sector for more than 27 years.

The main objective of this session was to brief students about the Hospitality sector and understand its operations, functioning, and its future perspective. Along with this, another aim was to make the students aware and inspire them to understand the various trends and opportunities that the sector unfolds for all its students.

The whole session was very well planned by Mr. Vikramjit Singh.

He deliberated on many important points:

• Hospitality Industry brings cultural diversity under one roof. One gets the  opportunity to get to know and work with people, culture and diversity from different parts of the world.

• Hospitality allows one with a room to grow and develop as a person, dealing  with challenging situations every day, giving life learnings.

• In this Industry different types of personality characteristics are required to work in a hotel from soft skills (organizing, communicating, teamwork etc) to more technical skills such as revenue management, accounting, facility management and many more.

• Mr. Singh answered queries by students extensively and assured them that post covid hospitality industry shall bounce back and shall see major growth again.

• The last phase was the Q&A session in which he openly interacted with students and faculty and answered their questions.

• Towards the closing, the event coordinators thanked Mr. Vikramjit Singh for his time and words of wisdom. Finally, the session closed with closing remark and Thanksgiving by Dr. Ruby Singh, Senior Manager, AUH CRC.

Total 70 students attended the session.
