Guest Lecture on "Environmental Contamination: Its Liability, Evolution And Key Principles"

Amity Law school organized a Guest Lecture on "Environmental Contamination: Its Liability, Evolution And Key Principles". The lecture was delivered by Mr. Pranav Sinha, Principle Consultant of Environmental Resources Management (ERM). The session was attended by students & faculty members of Amity Law School and Amity School of Earth & Environmental Sciences.

During the lecture, Mr. Sinha acquainted the students with the strict laws prevailing in India and their consciousness in observing the laws to protect the environment. He also gave several examples and incidents like the Oleum Gas Leak Case to elucidate it. 

Mr. Sinha further, explained the meaning and consequences of different types of pollution and the duty of every individual towards curbing the same. He cited various judgements of the Supreme Court wherein it has been held that right to life is a Fundamental Right under Article 21 of the Constitution and it includes the right to enjoyment of pollution free water and air for full enjoyment of life. If anything endangers or impairs that quality of life in derogation of laws, a citizen has recourse to approach the Courts and seek proper remedy.
