International Peace Day Celebration Organized by Saakar Club Under Dean of Student Welfare Office

INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY CELEBRATION ORGANIZED BY SAAKAR CLUB UNDER DSW OFFICE

The SAAKAR club of Amity University Haryana in collaboration with Den Student Welfare Office celebrated International Peace Day on 21st September 2022. Every year on September 21, the globe observes International Day of Peace. The United Nations General Assembly has designated this day as a day to advance the values of peace by observing 24 hours of nonviolence and cease-fire. This day emphasizes worldwide solidarity in the pursuit of a more peaceful and sustainable society.

One of the day's highlights was the PEACE WALK. To the sound of drumbeats, the throng gathered around the Academic Block and began marching as one, singing peace chants. The crowd's enthusiasm was obvious as more and more individuals joined the march after it began. Despite the inclement weather, the audience defied the rain to continue strolling around campus to spread the crucial message of peace through yelled slogans and artistic posters. Another instance was the CROWD ADDRESSAL. Maj. Gen. Bas Sir and members of Team Saakar addressed the crowd, emphasising the need of peace not just on a global scale, but also in our daily lives. Finally, there is the NATIONAL ANTHEM to conclude the ceremony. The National Anthem, a symbol of peace and harmony, was sung by the assembled crowd.

The event's main goal was to promote global solidarity in the pursuit of a peaceful and sustainable world.
