Amity University Haryana has established a comprehensive Sustainability Literacy Assessment Framework to evaluate and enhance sustainability awareness and knowledge among both students and staff (faculty and professional staff). The framework is designed in alignment with global sustainability benchmarks and inspired by internationally recognised assessment models such as Sulitest, enabling systematic measurement of sustainability literacy across the university community.

The university conducts annual sustainability literacy assessments through a structured evaluation tool that includes objective-based questionnaires, awareness surveys, and application-oriented questions covering key domains such as climate change, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), waste management, energy conservation, water resource management, and sustainable lifestyles. These assessments are administered through digital platforms such as Google Forms and Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring wide participation and efficient data collection.

The assessment process includes pre- and post-training evaluations, institution-wide surveys, and structured testing to measure knowledge levels, behavioural awareness, and practical understanding of sustainability principles. A defined scoring system is used to categorise participants into different literacy levels (high, moderate, and developing), enabling the university to identify knowledge gaps and design targeted training interventions.

The outcomes of the assessment are used to strengthen sustainability integration in curriculum, training programmes, and campus operations. Participation and performance are documented, and annual reports are generated to support continuous improvement and institutional sustainability goals. This framework is closely integrated with the university’s sustainability training initiatives, SDG-aligned curriculum, and community engagement activities.
