SDG-11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Amity University Haryana is committed to the United Nations Sustainability Development Goal (SDG) 11 to aim for Sustainable Cities & Communities. The University has been relentlessly working on promoting SDG 11 that encompasses making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. This document summarizes some of the initiatives taken by the AUH towards addressing this. The University is aware of its environment conservation responsibilities and embraces principle of sustainable development to ensure that any adverse environmental impact of its activities is minimized. Since its inception university development is ensured in line with preservation and conservation of nature and environment by taking care of its resource base like natural vegetation, water conservation, recycling, and purification, and environment friendly green building design. And the result is improvement in overall productivity of University areas in comparison to its surrounding. University building and its different blocks have adopted environment friendly green features consisting of sunken areas that are meant to reduce temperature during summer season.
