ANNUAL PRE-PLACEMENT TRAINING-WORKSHOP

The annual Pre-Placement Training workshop was organised online by ASCENT (Amity School of Communication Enhancement and Training) on 06th August, 2021 at AUMP for the final year students of the University. The resource person Prof Sharbari Saha delivered an exhaustive lecture on the skills required for Campus to Corporate transition, Grooming and the role of GD and Personal Interviews in the selection process of candidates during Campus-Recruitments. The workshop was attended by the students of Final year from  across all  the streams of Amity University Madhya Pradesh.
In his opening remarks Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. V.K Sharma emphasized upon the need of excellent communication skills for students to achieve success in placements and professional life. He further opined that English is a language which connects us to the entire world so students must brush up their language skills also.
After a formal welcome and introduction, the resource person Prof Sharbari Saha commenced the workshop by elaborating upon the corporate realities; the dismal skills gap between the industry and institutes and shortage of employable youth illustrated through various surveys and statistics. She further elaborated upon the corporate specific soft skills that the ever competitive industry demands. Prof. Saha emphasized that acquiring these skill are crucial not only for professional career but also for the personal development of the students.
Tips on the parameters on which GD is evaluated, characteristics of successful group discussion, and the method of participation in the GD were offered to the students. Winning strategies pertaining to GD and grooming enriched the final year students of the University.
The students showed a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to this highly interactive workshop and participated in the entire session. The resource person Prof Saha shed light on various issues faced during different stages of the campus placement process and shared tips on overcoming them. The Q & A session was the most interesting part of the workshop which was conducted by the student representative Marisha Sengar. The participants raised many queries related to recruitment, selection, interviews, and GD which were answered comprehensively by the resource person.
The workshop was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) M. P Kaushik, Deputy Pro VC Dr Anil Vashisht, Registrar, Mr Rajesh Jain,  Director ASCENT/ ASL/AISS Dr. Iti Roychowdhury, HoIs, HoDs, Deans, the members of the faculty of ASCENT/ ASL and  members of the Directorate of Placement & CRC.
The workshop ended with the concluding remarks and presentation of memento to the guest speaker. The anchors Shrawasti Mishra and Muskan Kushwah kept the session lively and on track. Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Nidhi Saxena, a student representative from BA(H) Political Science V sem.
