Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior celebrates 74th Republic Day

 Amity University Madhya Pradesh Gwalior celebrated the 74th Republic Day of our country in all its solemnity and grandeur at on 26th January 2023.

The National Flag was unfurled by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd) to the tune of the National Anthem and with this the festivities of this auspicious day commenced. Highlighting the significance of this glorious day in his address to the gathering, the Hon’ble VC expressed his gratitude towards the freedom fighters and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. He reminded the audience that our country has the largest written Constitution in the world and fundamental rights and duties of Indian citizens are mentioned in the constitution. We must perform our duties in a proper manner and become good citizens.
He opined that we are citizens of a progressive nation. The world has adopted the concept of Yoga from India and is looking forward to the New Education Policy (NEP 2023). He urged the students to fulfil their fundamental duties for the betterment of the country, study hard and take care of their health. Their actions should be a step toward glorifying our country at International platform. Concluding his address, the Hon’ble VC said that every year Republic Day reminds us of rededicating ourselves to our nation and society.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor’s address was followed by rendition of a patriotic song by Ms Gauri Pandit, a classical dance performance by Ms Kavya Malviya and Ms Prerna Sharma. Dr Mohan Kantharia, Associate Professor, Civil Department rendered a patriotic song which aroused patriotic fervor amongst the students, staff, members of faculty, Heads of Schools and Departments present on the occasion. 
A few games namely Band ball relay, Ball Hoop Relay, Head to head, Brick relay, Balloon Pyramids (Females) in male and female category were organized on this day to boost the morale of Support staff of AUMP. The participants were heartily cheered by the audience who thoroughly enjoyed the zeal and enthusiasm displayed during the event. 
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.) along with the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) M P Kaushik and Col S K Sethi gave away the prizes to the winners of games held for support staff.
The faculty members, staff and students also had the privilege of having a group photograph with Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries on this National Festival. Amidst the aura of patriotism, keeping up with the tradition, delicious sweets were distributed to the students and staff of the University.
