On 11th November 2025, Amity Business School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized an online workshop on the occasion of National Entrepreneurship Day titled “How to Start Your Own Food Processing Business?” The session was conducted in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council and Amity Innovation Incubator (E-Cell).
The session commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. (Dr.) Navita Nathani, Offg. Head of Institution, ABS, who highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship and the growing potential of India’s food processing industry.
The resource person, Dr. Suvrat Kumar Singh, an eminent academic and technical consultant in the food industry, shared valuable insights on the growing scope of the food processing sector in India. He elaborated on the essential steps for establishing a food processing venture, including idea development, raw material sourcing, licensing, funding options, production processes, packaging, quality standards, branding, and market strategies.
Dr. Singh also discussed government initiatives supporting food startups, MSME schemes, FSSAI guidelines, and the role of innovation and technology in the food manufacturing ecosystem. Students gained clarity on entrepreneurship opportunities in segments such as dairy products, ready-to-eat food, bakery items, organic foods, and agro-based products.
The session was highly interactive, with students asking questions related to startup challenges, investment requirements, and regulatory aspects. This workshop motivated participants to explore the food processing sector as a viable entrepreneurial pathway and enhanced their understanding of startup essentials and industry requirements.
