Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrated 76th Independence Day on 15th August 2022

 Amity University Madhya Pradesh celebrated the 76th Independence Day of the country with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15th August 2022 in its campus.

The celebrations commenced with the hoisitng of the Tri-Colour by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd) which filled all the students, faculty and staff of AUMP with immense pride. The rendition of National Anthem after flag hoisting filled the entire campus of AUMP with the spirit of nationalism.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd) greeted the students, faculty and staff of the University on this historic occasion. He stated that it’s a moment of immense pride that today we are celebrating 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Remembering the fight for freedom, he opined that our country has successfully defeated the enemies during operation Parakram and Kargil war but is still facing the demon of terrorism. We need to introspect about our shortcomings and work towards eliminating them. He further said that to make India “Vishwa Guru”, we all must strive hard and share the spiritual legacy with the entire world.
Addressing the audience Hon’ble VC gave the audience the mantra of 4 pillars of “Power”: the first one – Military power; the second - Economic power; the third - Political stability and the fourth – Education, Ethics and Moral Values. He expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Founder President and Hon’ble Chairman for their vision and exemplary leadership and guidance at every step.
Hon’ble VC also urged the faculties, staff and students of AUMP to work hard with dedication and pay their taxes on time to empower the army of our nation and to make our country a Superpower. Further, he paid humble tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose who laid down their lives while fighting against the Britishers. Stressing on the notion of Ahimsa, he stated that Ahimsa should not be considered as our weakness, our country is capable of fighting under any circumstance, when required. He further said that Amity University Madhya Pradesh has achieved many laurels in the past ten years and has been contributing towards nation building. Now we have to work towards fulfilling the dream of making our country “Saksham Bharat”.
After Hon’ble VC’s speech a cultural programme added flavour of patriotism to the celebrations of this auspicious day. The rendition of a patriotic poem by Devanshu Vashisht was followed by a dance performance by Sunaina Arora. Love Kumar played a few mesemerizing patriotic songs on Casio. Gauri Pandit enthralled the audience with ‘Aey mere watan ke logon’ in her melodious voice. After these individual performances a Nukkad Natak showcasing the spirit of humanity and brotherhood in India was performed by the students of AUMP.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble VC, Pro VC, Deputy Pro-VC, Registrar, Deans, Directors, HoIs, HoDs, faculty, staff members and the students of AUMP.
The 75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav rekindled the flame of patriotism in the heart of every Amitian. The faculty, staff and students of AUMP took pride in clicking photographs with the dignitaries on this momentous occasion. Keeping up with the tradition, sweets were distributed to all the Amitians.
