The orientation program was inaugurated with the opening remarks of Chairman, NSS, Major Gen. Dr. S. C. Jain,VSM**. He described the NSS structural framework which works under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Ethics, duties and opportunities for the NSS volunteers of AUMP were detailed by the Chairman NSS.  He described the intricate societal needs of the day as the opportunities of service for the volunteers. He congratulated them for their selection in the biggest youth organization of the country. He emphasized that working to help the society in emergencies, natural disasters as well, as peace ambassadors extending helping hands for the poor and under privileged people makes the life of a person contented as well as evolved a class above. The orientation program was attended by 150 selected NSS volunteers from the various schools of AUMP, dignitaries, HoIs, HoDs and NSS committee faculties of AUMP. The orientation program concluded with the participants pledging for service to the society with the NSS Lakshya Geet.  The orientation program positively met with the objective of inculcating the values of social concern, awareness, responsibility and connect with the felt needs of the society with the aim of positive contributions.
