Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior organized “Amity Science & Art Expo 2019 (SCIART 2019)”
Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized a Two Day Mega Event SCI-ART 2019 on 21 and 22 Dc 2019. The Sci-Art 2019 provided a platform to school students to showcase their talent, creativity, innovative ideas and application of learning in the realms of Science and Art before a galaxy of learned scientists, professionals academicians and peers. The event was inaugurated on 21 Dec 2019 by the Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mr Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar, with the cutting of the ribbon and release of balloons. The Hon’ble Chief Guest, escorted by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries spent considerable time viewing the exhibits and interacting with the participants.
The SCI-ART Exhibition/ Competition received overwhelming response with teams participating from across 03 states of India, a total of 761 Exhibits (136 from Science and 625 from Arts), 53 Participating schools and 1200 school students. The exhibits were evaluated through a rigorous two tier process. On the first day a panel of In-house Experts short listed 50 entries each from Science and Art. On the final day a panel of eminent experts evaluated the top 100 entries to select the winners. The evaluation was followed by the Valedictory Ceremony which was graced by the presence of Dr Tessy Thomas, Distinguished Scientist and Director General Aero DRDO, Cdme Saroj Kumar Patel and Prof Dr S K Shrivastava.
After the floral welcome, a brief cultural program comprising a band performance, a Kathak recital and a musical drama was put up for the audience comprising participants, guests, school principals, faculty members and staff. On this occasion Hon’ble VC AUMP Lt Gen VK Sharma, also addressed the huge gathering. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor spoke of the Amity Incubation Centre and invited the young participants to avail this facility to develop their ideas and products.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor speech was followed by the address of the Chief Guest, Dr Tessy Thomas. Dr Thomas gave fulsome praise to the participating students for their creativity and innovation. Cdme Saroj Patel also addressed the students on the occasion. Three prizes were given each in Science and Art Category. The Winner received a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 51000/-, while the runner up and the first runner up were given trophies, certificates and cash prizes of Rs 31000/- and 21000/- respectively.
