The event titled “Living Heritage: A Student Walk through Amer Fort” was organized by Amity School of Architecture & Planning (ASAP-AUR) on Thursday, 18th September 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The heritage walk aimed to immerse students in Rajasthan’s rich cultural and architectural legacy by providing them with first-hand exposure to the historical and spatial context of Amer Fort. The visit enabled participants to understand traditional construction methods, such as lime plastering and stone masonry, as well as the intricate hierarchy of spaces within fort architecture. Students also observed the role of adaptive reuse in sustaining cultural tourism, aligning with SDG-12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
This on-site experiential learning strengthened students’ appreciation for contextual design, cultural sustainability, and the integration of heritage principles into contemporary architectural education.
