Culinary Winner

School of Hospitality of Amity University Rajasthan organized an online national level Culinary Champion Competition, 2021. The competition extended up till two months in which students of class 9- 12 took active participation, there was a Home Chef category also in which around 100 contestants presented their talent. Out of 1000 registered participants only 100 were selected to display their flair. The competition had fifty rounds of testing. Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, Chef Sebi, Chef Asish Bhaseen, Chef Vivek Sagar, Chef Ajay Sud, Chef Vinod Bhati, Chef Rahul Vali, Chef Vimal Dhar, Dr Chef Ijaat Hussain, Dr Chef Varinder Rana, Chef Ultamas Patel, Chef Neelu Kora, graced the competition by sharing valuable cooking  tips with the contestants. Dr Chef Saurabh Sharma and Chef Aditi Anand represented Amity University Rajasthan with their participation.

The grand finale session was a cheer to the participants by Pro Vice Chancellor of Amity University Rajasthan, Prof (Dr) Amit Jain and Director of Amity school of Hospitality, Prof (Dr) Sanjeeb Pal. The competition announced cash prizes, gift vouchers, and hampers to the winners. The prime objective of the competition was to create awareness for cooking and the possible prospects of having cuisine as a career. The competition was judged by 14 eminent chefs of the nation, it was hosted by Dr. Megha Bhargava. Dr Saurabh Sharma welcomed the panel of the jury. During the course of competition 50 various dishes were prepared by the participants. Showing their talent the contestants prepared various delicious foods. The contestants asked the judges their queries related to cooking and got some quick tips for tasty cooking. The judges asked questions regarding the recipes and ingredients used by the participants. 50 marks were assigned for 5 categories of evaluation. The final round was qualified by 20 participants, 10 from ‘Student’ and 10 from ‘Home Chef. 5 winners were selected from each of the qualified category; they were given cash prizes, gift hampers and goodies. The winners from the ‘Home Chef’ category were, Kusum Lata from Delhi, Nandita Singh from Dhanbad, Priyanka Pumnani from Jodhpur, Akila Vimall from Rajpalayam, Bishakha Kumari Saxena from Noida and from ‘Student category’ the winners were, Molly Ahuja from Greater Noida, Ambika Joshi from Jaipur, Jasmeet Kaur from Mumbai, Ria Oswal from Bangalore and Sanskardeep from New Delhi.

The guests shared that in every individual there lies a hidden chef, opportunity is the only thing required to nourish it. Variety of delicious food was prepared during the competition like, Cornmeal Swiss roll, Paneer kofta, ChilbilCornitos, Cornito Burmese Mohinga, Ragi beetroot gujia etc. Quoting the importance of Indian cuisine the judges emphasized on using seasonal vegetables. The panel also shared their motivating experience of the hotel industry. The event was sponsored by Saloni Mustard, Amasha Masala, Ruffles, Cornitos, the complete man.
