Creating the “Job Creators”: Innovation Incubator and Entrepreneurship Cell Boosting Entrepreneurship among students at Amity University Rajasthan
In the wake of COVID-19, many students are worried about the future of work and jobs. To some extent, these concerns are justified, given the fact that businesses world over are facing turbulent times. The environment is characterized by the acronym VUCA which stands for Volatile, Complex, Uncertain and ambiguous. One way to boost economic growth post lockdown would be to boost entrepreneurship, especially among young graduates. Ecosystem to create, nurture and sustain startups are required at the institution level. Amity Innovation Incubator at Amity University Rajasthan provides a strong platform to boost the entrepreneurial spirit amongst the students. Students have formed a peer group by creating Entrepreneurship cell and work diligently to convert their creative ideas into successful ventures. Several events are organized to help students develop the required skills to start their own venture. Events like “Ideathon” motivate students to develop, test and pitch their ideas for further mentoring. Amity University Rajasthan through Innovation Incubator provides support and guidance in the prominent areas including legal assistance, workspace, marketing, public relations, technical, media and finance to help the budding entrepreneurs facing multiple challenges.
Progressive news and updates with respect to the market and startup world are delivered to the students of the 150-acre green campus on a regular basis to keep them motivated and encouraged towards their startup goals. Several expert and mentoring sessions are also organized by Amity Innovation Incubator and E-cell of Amity University Rajasthan. Joint workshops with international partners of Amity University Rajasthan are organized to have cross-fertilization of ideas and sharing of experiences.
Students gain an advantage of obtaining a Degree in their choice of Program in domains like Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Architecture, Hospitality, Law, Fashion, Fine Arts and Sciences and at the same time pursuing their startup dreams.
