Smart-i-Dustbin – Intelligent Waste Management System
Smart-i-Dustbin – Intelligent Waste Management System is an innovative project developed by a team of B.Tech (CSE) students—Chetan Singh Chouhan, Abishek Kumar TS, Aman Choudhary, Raj Singh Chauhan, and Kartikey Verma—from Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET). This intelligent system is designed to revolutionize urban waste management by incorporating smart technologies such as automatic lid-opening for a touchless, hygienic user experience, and real-time waste level monitoring that triggers timely alerts to municipal authorities. These alerts help schedule efficient garbage pickups, preventing overflow and reducing delays. The system further employs AI-powered analytics to determine optimal bin placement based on foot traffic and usage patterns, enhancing overall efficiency. Additionally, Smart-i-Dustbin is equipped with an integrated system that functions as a bug repellent and air purifier, improving the surrounding environment by eliminating odors, deterring pests, and ensuring cleaner air in the vicinity. Smart-i-Dustbin not only streamlines waste collection but also minimizes environmental impact and promotes sustainability, serving as a prime example of how AI and IoT can contribute to cleaner, smarter cities.
