INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON “Amalgamation of Academic and Industrial Green Chemistry”

The Symposium on Amalgamation of Academic and Industrial Green Chemistry

provided a global prospective of efforts which are being put at academia and industries towards Green, Clean, and Sustainable future. This event brought experts, seniors, fellow colleagues and students together with the focused need to explore the various opportunities & challenges of Academic and Industrial Green Chemistry paradigms and their implementation benefits. This symposium enticed people in general to think Green and get acquainted with its positive impact on society. Post event learning would certainly trigger the intriguing thoughts for implementation of Green strategies at work place towards sustainability and improving life style."

 

Keynote Address was delivered by the Guest of Honour, Professor Apurba Bhattacharya, Associate Professor, University of Texas A & M Kingsville, USA.

 

The inaugural session ended with the Presiding Note from Padma Shri, Dr. Nitya Anand, Ex-Director, CDRI, Lucknow, India, followed by vote of thanks by Prof. S T H Abidi.

 

The Technical Session I was chaired by Mr. A.K. Saxena, Chief Scientist, and Former Head, Medicinal Chemistry Division, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. and co chaired by Dr. Kanchan Hajela, Senior Scientist, Medicinal and Process Chemistry Division, CDRI, Lucknow. The lectures were delivered by Dr. D. H. Dethe, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, Dr. Sanjay Batra, Scientist, Medicinal & Process Chemistry Division, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute and Dr. A.K. Sinha, Chief Scientist, Medicinal Process Chemistry, C.S.I.R. Central Drug Research Institute.

 

The Technical Session II was chaired by Dr. Bijoy Kundu, Head of Department, Medicinal and Process Chemistry Division, CDRI in which Dr Rakeshwar Bandichhor, Director, API-R&D, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Hyderabad delivered his lecture. This Session was shared by students of Amity, who competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the session. Simultaneously, poster session competition was held in the Multipurpose Hall.

The valedictory function had Dr P K Dhawan as the chief guest. After his remarks, Prizes were distributed. In the end, Dr Jaya Pandey delivered the vote of thanks.
