“Pharmacists united in action for a healthier world”

World Pharmacists Day is celebrated globally on 25th September every year. This day is celebrated to create awareness about the role of pharmacists in improving health. This day was an initiative of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (IPF) along with the council of this organization.

Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP) under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2022 under the theme Pharmacists united in action for a healthier world” on 26th & 27th September 2022. This year’s theme celebrates how the profession is united for health, regardless of and overcoming conflict, different politics and cultures, and economic disparity.   In this context, AIP, organized several events including Pharma Quiz, Poster Presentation Competition and NUKKAD NATAK to create awareness on Tuberculosis and Dengue Fever.

On day one (26th September 2022), the inaugural ceremony of the event took place in the Auditorium in the university campus and was bestowed with the presence of several dignitaries including Assistant Pro Vice-Chancellor, Director ASET, Wg. Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Kumar; R K Saxena, Director Compliance; Rohit Mishra, Director Projects, and Deputy Director Compliance; Dr. Abha Tandon, Head, Quality Department and Nodal Officer, NABH and NABL, SAHARA Hospital, Lucknow.

The program commenced with retaining the blessings, guidance, and good wishes of Prof. (Dr.) Suneela Dhaneshwar, Director, AIP, Deputy Dean Research (S and T), Head Directorate of Research and Publications, then was led by an opening address from Dr. Zeeshan Fatima, Associate Professor, AIP in which she detailed about the important role of Pharmacists in maintaining optimum health care system across the globe. The address was followed by Pharma Quiz competition and Nukkad Natak. Students showed great enthusiasm to be a part of both events. The last session of the day witnessed the artistic effort by the students in the form of posters in Poster Presentation Competition. The chief guest for the last session was Dr. Abha Tondon. She highlighted the “Importance of quality parameters and drug safety” in her address. This was followed by the Valedictory session and a vote of thanks. The event was successfully completed under the guidance of faculty coordinators of the event, Dr. Sharad Chand and Dr. Manoj Dikkatwar. The event was attended by almost 300 audiences comprising the students and faculty of the institute.

On day two (27th September 2022), a health awareness rally was organized at 11.00 am inside and outside the University campus premises by the students and faculty of the institute holding banners and placards with slogans written on them. At the end, Nukkad Natak was performed by the student at the University’s amphitheater to create awareness on Tuberculosis and Dengue. The efforts and dedication of the Head of the Institution, faculty coordinators, all staff members and students made the event a grand success.
