A one-day educational visit was organised by the Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP), Amity University Lucknow Campus, to one of the most renowned research institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, on 13th February 2025.
The main objective of the NBRI visit was to help the students acquire practical knowledge of the details of plants, their cultivation and collection process, authentication process, herbarium maintenance, plant parts extraction and isolation process, undergoing at NBRI. During this visit, Dr K M Prabhu Kumar, Senior Scientist, explained the process of collecting plants for authentication as well as keeping them in the herbarium. Later, Dr Priti Rai and Shri Rameshwar Prasad explained about the techniques to prepare plants for storage in the herbarium. Thereafter, students also visited SAIF facilities along with the pilot plant.
