Industry visit on preparation & service of fast food products and effective food costing held at Domino’s

Event Brief: An Industrial Visit-cum-Workshop organized for the students on the topic “Preparation & Service of Fast Food Products and Effective Food costing” where students were taken to a Fast food outlet namely Domino’s, Gomtinagar, Lucknow so as to give them the exposure for preparation and service procedures of various types of Fast food products and methods of Food costing being done in the concerned Fast Food outlet. The Workshop was conducted by the Shift Manager of same outlet.

The above workshop was organized so as to get served the following purpose -
  • To update the students with the recent trends and practices being followed in preparation and service of various types of fast food products in the fast food outlet.
  • To provide the students hands-on training to prepare various types of fast food products.
  • To provide students an opportunity to familiarize with the latest kitchen equipments and various types of ingredients being used to prepare fast food products.
  • To provide students an opportunity to familiarize with the procedure to work on POS (Point of Sale) system of restaurants which include taking order from guests, placing order, bill settlement and preparing restaurant sales summary report.

The workshop has been a good learning exposure for students being a part of their course curriculum of BHM program. The workshop ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Chef Bivas Sarkar, faculty coordinator of event, and further memento was also given to the resource person by Dr Kapil Shankar Tiwari, faculty member of Amity School of Hospitality.
