“BRANDING AND MARKETING STRATEGIES DURING COVID TIMES”

We all know we are going through a difficult time, a ‘black swan’ event that has sent shockwaves across the global economy – from large business houses to small next-door businesses, the COVID-19 pandemic has spared no one. Factories had been shut down, supply chains have been disrupted and marketing investments have been put on hold as countries are putting health and safety above everything else. There have been fundamental shifts in the consumer buying behavior and media consumption.

Amity School of Applied Sciences, Lucknow Campus organized Webinar on Branding and Marketing Strategies during Covid Timeson 15 June 2020. The speaker Dr. Ritu Talwar, Professor, New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM), Delhi, emphasized that the organizations should utilize this time to ramp up media knowledge across levels, with a special focus on digital, to enable better decision making. Internal experts can engage the wider organization through webinars and digital workshops. Prof. also talked about how brand should re-align messaging around “new” core consumer values – safety, security, comfort and health. With the advent of fake news and misinformation, it is of vital importance to ensure the brand image is not compromised by ads appearing across such content – use trusted channels on TV and extensive white listing and other brand safety measures on digital. It was a successful and informative event. Prof. (Dr.) Asita Kulshreshtha, Head of the Institution, chaired the session. Dr. Monika Kamboj and Dr. Sangeeta Bajpai was the faculty coordinator. The participation of faculty members and students graced the Webinar.
