Science and Technology are essential for the economical and social development of our country. To mark the importance of Science, our country celebrates Science Day on 28th February to honor the Noble prize winner, the discoverer of “Raman effect” by Dr. C.V. Raman. In 1928, Dr. C.V. Raman, a prominent scientist and Nobel laureate from India, discovered Raman Effect phenomenon on 28 February. The focal theme of science day this year is "Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skills and Work".
Our university is one of the student centric universities. So during this period of COVID -19, and to celebrate the National Science Day, Amity School of Applied Sciences (ASAS-L) planned three events, poster presentation, quiz competition and talk by our guest to excite the brains of young minds through online. Poster Session – It was a 1h event, around 12 students of ASASL presented posters and a small oral presentation to explain the meaning of poster. Mr. Nistha Saxena of B.Sc. (Chemistry) 6th Sem. won the 1st prize. Science Quiz - It was conducted by the students of B.Sc. (H) Physics 2nd sem. Around 25 students participated. The quiz had 3 rounds. Mr. Abhinandan Yadav of B.Tech (CSE) 2nd Sem. won the first prize. Alumni Talk – Alumni Mr. Farhan (M.Sc. 2016-2018 Batch) who is an author of a book on English writing “”.
It was a successful and informative event with 150 students and faculties were participated in the event. Prof. (Dr.) Asita Kulshreshtha (Head of the Institution), chaired the session. Dr. Sangeeta Bajpai & Dr. Pooja Srivastava was the event coordinators.
