Amity Institute of Pharmacy conducted a “Panel Discussion and Interactive Session on Campus to Corporate for Pharmacy and Biotechnology Students” focusing on Career Opportunities for Pharma & Biotech students online on MS Teams. Eminent panelists including Dr. Deepak Kakde, Assistant Manager, R&D, Mylan Laboratories Pvt. Ltd Hyderabad; Mr. Kapil Varshney, Sr. Principal Clinical Data Manager, Novartis healthcare Pvt. Ltd Hyderabad, Mr. Gaurav Pratap Rohilla, Group lead, Value and Access, Novartis healthcare Pvt. Ltd Hyderabad, Mr. Pankaj Jaiswal, Senior Manager, Advanz Pharma, Mumbai and Mr. Arun Arya, Senior Manager, Regulatory affairs, Syneos Health, Bangalore graced this event. Total of 320 students graduate, post graduate and PhD students of Pharmacy and Biotech attended the event. The event was inaugurated by virtual lighting the lamp and Ishastavan. The program further proceeded with a welcome address by convener of the event Prof. (Dr.) Suneela Dhaneshwar, Director Amity Institute of Pharmacy & Deputy Dean of Research, Amity University Uttar Pradesh Lucknow Campus.
The experts from pharmaceutical corporate and government sector shared their journey of success and hurdles they had overcome during the due course. The inquisitive audience questioned their doubts, they had regarding career and opportunities in corporate world. Panelists satisfied the queries asked by students.
Issues discussed through the course of event included discussion over bridging industry to academia gap, expectations of corporate world from fresher, how to have expertise through short term courses. Also, a discussion over the requirements and expectation of the industry from the freshers, and what soft skills and enabling attitude of learning can make students more employable was done. Furthermore, the importance of relationships, importance of clarity in basic concepts and keeping oneself updated was discussed.
