Amity University Mumbai Conducted A Webinar On Life Is A Journey Not A Destination

Mr. Arun Garg starts the session by discussing the concept of self. According to him finding the right answer to ‘Who am I’ is the first step to self-realisation. Finding answers to things like: what is your passion, how you behave etc is the key to success.

He talks about his current passion - which is building links between India and Canada through the Canada-India Network Society, which is a non-profit society registered in the province of British Columbia, Canada, to Build a Global Healthy Civil Society. He talks about the components of leadership: the foundation (philosophy) the posts (principles) and the roof (practice) and elaborates on these.

Leadership is built on tools and how each of these tools are differently interpreted by every individual. In leadership, you take the fusion of internal and external i.e you take anything that comes from outside (for instance, knowledge) but also focus on what is on the inside (for instance, your instinct)
Talks about an integrated system approach. How we need both forms of approach: Reduction-Holistic, Experimental-Observational, etc. It's not either or, it's both forms that we need.

You need to have a system of analysis and accountability. This is where leadership comes to play. Leadership enables us to analyse these things. Find out who you really are and build your entrepreneurship model on that.To fill the gap caused by different approaches, we need the integrated fusion of internal and external qualities.Talks about how food is important. “It is the key, it is the medicine.” Food needs to relate with the individual.

Five K’s of diet control - Kab, Kya, Kyu, Kitna and Kaise. Talks about eating the right thing, and eating only when hungry, not because you have to. Entrepreneurs need to think about making it real. Talks about Oral hygiene and how your overall health is a big determinant of your leadership. When asked about his thoughts on spirituality, he believes that there is an influence from someone in some form.

“Leadership is doing the right thing, for the right reasons, the right way.”
