Responsible Tour Operations Management

The Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism (AITT), Amity University Mumbai, organized an Expert Lecture on “Responsible Tour Operations Management” on 20th February 2026 at the City Office, Kurla. The session aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of responsible travel operations and industry coordination practices aligned with contemporary tourism standards

The expert session was delivered by Mr. Thomas Sebastian, Manager Vacation Curation & Client Experience at World Travel Studio, Mumbai, an industry professional with extensive experience in tour operations, client servicing, and travel product management. The lecture was moderated and coordinated by Dr. Sandeep R. Kapse.

The session provided valuable industry insights into the internal structure and functioning of travel firms, highlighting operational divisions such as sales, product development, and client servicing. Participants gained practical exposure to responsible coordination with airlines, hotels, Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), Destination Management Companies (DMCs), and visa agencies, emphasizing ethical practices, transparency, and sustainability compliance.

Key discussions focused on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in B2B and B2C travel operations, responsible pricing models adopted by Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in itinerary planning, customer engagement, and data-driven decision making. The lecture also emphasized responsible on-field tour management practices, including environmental responsibility, community sensitivity, and safety standards.

The programme strengthened industry–academia engagement and encouraged students to explore internship opportunities with World Travel Studio. The session reaffirmed AITT’s commitment to bridging academic learning with industry practices while nurturing responsible and future-ready tourism professionals.
