Amity University Mumbai Organizes Orientation Programme 2020-17th To- 28th Aug 2020 On MS Teams

 Orientation programme was organized for B.Sc I (Hons.), B.Tech I, Dual I, M.Sc I, M.Tech I and M.Tech I (Food Biotech.).

 
 
i.) The first two days were focused on AIB Department: introducing faculties, their roles and responsibilities. Departmental presentation was shared and explained to students highlighting the course structure, Minor track, FL, Examination pattern, Amizone, Placements etc. Additionally, events and co-curricular activities and opportunities for students were also discussed.
 
ii) Students from different courses were selected to have interaction with young minds, to make them comfortable, and have ice breaking session.  Special interaction with Alumni students was also organized to have clear picture about the Department and opportunities and learning experience during their stay on campus.
 
iii) Amizone training session conduced to inform students about the intranet of Amity Universe. Additionally, focus was also on discussing the utilities of Amizone, Amity Learning Management System and Online lectures using Microsoft team. Covid-19 Awareness Quiz was organized and students participated enthusiastically and earned certificates. Additionally, Drug Hackathon (initiative from Govt. of India, AICTE and various pvt players like Schrodinger, Dassault Biovia) event was initiated to promote all the researchers (students, scientist or Professors) and create awareness to participate in tutorial/lecture session knowledge in CADD. The event also focused on possible computational as well as molecular modelling techniques to study SARS-COV2/COVID-19 targets-drugs with special focus on drug repurposing and enzyme mutations.
 
iv) Guest Lecture by Dr. Saranath  (Cancer Patients Aid Association, Mumbai) on “ Oral Cancer- High incidence Cancer in India- Let us understand why?” 
 
v) Guest Lecture by Dr. Chetan Arekar (Winemaker and Independent Consultant) on “Biotechnology and Wine industry”.
 
vi) Guest Lecture by Dr. Maruti Dhanavade (Shivaji University, Kolhapur) on “Introduction to Bioinformatics”. 
 
vii) Guest Lecture by Dr. Siddharth Pandey (Centre of Excellence in Astrobiology, Amity University, Mumbai) on “Introducing Amity Centre of Excellence in Astrobiology”. 
 
viii) Guest Lecture by Mr. Vinay Kumar Hegde (Bhandiman Life Sciences Research Foundation) on “Applications of Biotechnology in day to day Agriculture and Horticulture”. 
 
ix) Guest Lecture by Dr. Azza Silotry Naik (Food Research Centre, Dublin, Ireland) on “Research based Innovations in food science & technology”. 
 
x) Guest Lecture by Dr. Parag Saudagar  (SK Bioviz Pvt. Ltd., Nasik) on “Bacillus spores: Ideal probiotics for food applications”. 
 
xi) Guest Lecture by Dr. Rajarshi Pal (Eyestem Research Private Ltd., Bengaluru) on “Promises and Premises of Stem Cell Technology”. 
 
xii) Guest Lecture by Dr. Rahul Chaudhari (Module Innovations, Pune) on “Different Strategies-Common Goals!”. 
 
xiii) Guest Lecture by Dr.  Prashant Khadke (Pensieve Health Private Limited, Pune) on “In it to Win it .... Integrated Opportunities in Healthcare”. 
 
xiv) Guest Lecture by Dr. Neha Srivastava (General Mills) on “Regulatory affairs and biotechnology”.
