International Women’s Day Celebration at Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism

 An online talk show and online poster designing competition was organized by IQAC, Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Amity University, Mumbai in collaboration with Indiatourism, Mumbai- Ministry of Tourism, Government of India on the occasion of International Women’s Day, 2022. The theme of this year’s celebration was “Break the Bias”. The event was held on 08th March 2022, from 10:30 A.M to 01:00 P.M on online mode on Zoom platform. Ms. Bhavana Shinde, Assistant Director, Indiatourism, Mumbai delivered the welcome address, Ms. Joyatri Ray, Director, EQUATIONS, Bangalore stressed upon the importance of role of women in decision making in any organization, Dr. Ishani Choudhary, Board Member, Surfing Federation of India underlined the need to break various biases and pre-conceived stereotypes through surfing and Dr. Divya Pandey, Head, Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Amity University, Mumbai expressed the opportunities and challenges for women in academia.

 
A total of 33 contestants took part in the online poster designing competition. Posters were made by the contestants keeping in mind the theme of this year’s women’s day celebration. Mr. Bhuvnesh Gouda, Head, Amity School of Fine Arts, Amity University, Mumbai judged the competition. The 1st prize was won by Ms. Winona Rachel Vaz of Amity School of Fine Arts, the second prize was won by Mr. Zainab Kapadia of Amity School of Fine Arts and Ms. Pranjali Badkundri of Amity School of Fine Arts won the third prize. Trophies, certificates and Incredible India goodies would be provided by Indiatourism, Mumbai to all the winners.
