Faculty of B.A. (Hons.) Economics course of Amity Institute of Liberal Arts (AILA) had organised a seminar on 'US-China Trade War-Its Implication for the Global Economy' on Friday 27th of September,2019 between 11 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. int he seminar hall at Amity University Mumbai.

US President's policy of increasing tariff (taxes) on imported goods from China faced the equal treatment from Chinese Government leading to higher prices for the imported commodities for both the countries. Economics theory suggests the exactly opposite view. Many economists had warned President Donald Trump not to adopt this policy and left his committee with disappointment. The result-slowing down of the world economy.

The issue was discussed with causes and consequences and got the useful suggestions. The seminar began with the welcome address by Dr. Ravi Manuja, Registrar of Amity University Mumbai. The key note speaker was Prof. Veeramani C. Professor from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai; an institute which is set up by RBI. He related the theory with his empirical study. The practical aspect was given by Ms. Jahanwi S, Chief Manger EXIM Bank, Mumbai, and by Ms. Neha Raman, Deputy Manger, EXIM Bank, Mumbai.

The students of Economics, Amity Business School, Amity Law School, RICS, Political Science, Social Work attended the seminar and it was also attended by the faculty of Amity University Mumbai. This seminar was useful for the faculty and the students of Economics, Political Science, ABS, CII, RICS, Law and also for others those who were the having interest in the subject.
