Cultural milieu galore in state’s Foundation Day celebrations

A series of events were organized by Amity University, Chhattisgarh (AUC), to commemorate the state’s Foundation Day. A wide range of events took place in and outside the campus. Different schools of the university organized events such as seminar, state folk dances, debate competitions, social outreach program to a nearby village and more. 

In Amity School of Communication (ASCO), students performed folk dances of the state and took part in a debate on theme “18 years of Chhattisgarh and Role of Media”. The foundation day event commenced with an address by Dr. V.K. Singh Dahima, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, AUC and Dr. S.C. Mukhopadhyay, Registrar, AUC. It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. Dr. S.C. Nayak, ASCO Head proposed a vote of thanks. The event concluded with singing of National Anthem.
 
School of Engineering & Technology and School of Architecture and Planning jointly organized “Know Your Chhattisgarh”, a learning oriented competition to spread awareness on unique and diverse culture of the state among students. Various contests were organised for students to enhance their understanding about geography of the state, salient features of each districts and importance of preserving the age old culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh. Architecture students also learnt sustainable designs that can preserve nature and environment of the state.
 
Faculty and students from Amity Law School (ALS) and Behavioural and Allied Sciences visited a nearby village named Manth and exchanged pleasantries and thoughts on the out-reach program with residents. The group of visitors also distributed sweets to village residents. Faculty and students interacted with schoolchildren in Primary and Middle schools of the village and motivated them to give their best to academic studies. Mr. Jelis Subhan, Head of ALS; Dr. Gunjan Mishra, Head of Behavioral and Allied Sciences; and Dr. Prasanna Sharma, Associate Professor, AIB, spearheaded this visit.
