HALF-DAY WORKSHOP ON “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ANN (PART-1)”

Trainer Prof. A. Das presenting her book on AI-ANN to honorable VC Sir

Theability to invent intelligent machines has fascinated humans since the ancienttimes. Researchers are creating systems and programs that could mimic humanthoughts and try doing things that human could do. The artificial Intelligenceis a combination of computer science, physiology and philosophy. The ArtificialIntelligence has come a long way from the old days. It was with the inventionof the computers. The technology was finally available and seemed to stimulateintelligent behaviour. Intelligent here means things which could be done at afaster pace and thinking than a human mind. The insights and theory broughtabout the Artificial Intelligence will set a trend in the future. The currentproducts are just the beginning of the future trend. There are differentapproaches and methods that are being used in Artificial Intelligence. TheArtificial intelligence research is highly technical and specialized. Theresearch of the Artificial Intelligence is based on two main lines. One line isbased on the biological thinking where the Artificial Intelligence is based onthe idea of human thinking and that system should work like how humans think. With the input of Artificial Intelligence, it is expected that many of the problems, the machines are expected to solve and that would require an extensiveknowledge of the world. A lot of knowledge in various aspects has to beacquired in attaining the knowledge for an AI to function correctly. Hence ROBOTICS& AUTOMATION CLUB (Department of M.A.E. & E.C.E. - Jointly, ASET, AUK,) organizeda half-day workshop on “Artificial Intelligence - ANN (Part-1)” on03-04-2017 (MON) at AUK. The speaker was Prof. A. Das (Author for thebook on AI: Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing for Beginners,ISBN-13: 978-1619030237). The vote of thanks was given by Mr PriyabrataAdhikary, HOD-MAE (ASET), AUK.
