IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE COMPETITION –TAEKWONDO
  • The competition will be conducted as per the Rules & Regulations of the Taekwondo Federation of India unless there is modification in these rules.
  • The competition will be held at Zonal and National level.
  • At Zonal level, one player from each school can participate in each weight category, separately in Boys & Girls group.
  • From each Zone, in each weight category, separately in Boys & Girls group, the First and Second position winning player shall qualify to participate in the Nationals.
  • Taekwondo Uniform & Equipments like Chest Guard, Head Guard & Groin Guard approved by the World Taekwondo Federation shall be allowed to be used by the participants.
  • The Competitions shall be conducted in the following age and weight categories:

  • Please bring your school flag for march past.
  • No players shall be below 10 years for taking part in Taekwondo Competition.
  • The players shall be allowed to participate only in their respective weight, category and no jumping in the weight category shall be allowed (actual body weight).
  • Weigh-in shall be conducted one day prior to the day of the Competition.
  • There should be at least four competitors in a particular weight category so as to conduct the competition.
  • Time duration of the contest shall be 3 rounds of 2 minutes each and 1 minute rest between the rounds. In case of a tie score after the competition of 3 rd round, a 4 th round of 2 minutes will be conducted as the sudden death overtime round, after a 1 minute rest period following the 3 rd round. In the event of a tie score after the 4 th round, the winner shall be decided by superiority of all refereeing officials. The Final decision shall be based on the initiative shown during the 4 th round only.
  • Each Competition Arena will have four corner judges, one centre referee, one recorder and one time keeper.
  • The Competition shall be conducted on Single Elimination Tournament System.
  • The Merit Certificate will be given to the First, Second and Two Third position winning players. The remaining participants shall be distributed with Participation Certificate.
  • The age of the player will be considered upto 31 st December 2006.
  • Protest, if any, can be lodged within 30 minutes of the expiry of the bouts with Rs. 500/- as protest fee. However, the decision of the Arbitration Board / Jury of Appeal, will be the final in all respects.
  • The organizing school will not be responsible for any injury / accident during the competition. A player shall be under 14 and 19 years of age on 31 stDecember 2006, no matter the competition is being held in the month of November, 2006.
  • The Arbitration Board / Jury of Appeal Members/Protest Committee shall include:

    • Organizing Secretary
    • CBSE Observer
    • TFI Observer
    • In Charge Technical Oficials / Chief Referee
