Particularly, he has worked in the areas of remote sensing of wetland vegetation for the past several years in the Gulf Coast of the United States. His research has focused on the evaluation of coastal salt marsh health by remote quantification of marsh vegetation biophysical parameters such as chlorophyll, vegetation fraction, leaf area index and biomass from satellite imagery. This important research topic has a potential to make significant contribution to the geospatial knowledge and wetland management. At present he has also taken interest in the application of Geospatial Technology in the effective conservation and restoration of Indian tropical forests.
