India’s First Tri- Fuel Hybrid Concept Car, “Amity Hybrid Car” launched

It was a breakthrough in the field of science and technology when one year of diligence and hard work of ten students from Mechanical Automation Branch of Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), fructified with the launch of India’s First Tri- Fuel Hybrid Concept Car - Amity Hybrid Car, a project under the aegis of Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation (ASTF)

The Car was launched in a glittering ceremony by Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University in the presence of experts from the Corporate Sector including Mr. I. V Rao- Executive Director, Maruti Udyog Limited and Mr. Tutu Dhawan- a veteran and expert of Automobiles.

Unveiling the sleek and glistening green and black two seater car, Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University said that Indians have the potential of being the best in the world. But for them to be successful, their talents need to be harnessed and then only India can stand out amongst its counterparts. Mr. Chauhan said that Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation (ASTF) will initiate more such projects to exude the potential of Indian brains and polish them to become the leaders of the country and this historic initiative is just a beginning towards the revolution that Amity is striving to bring in India. Applauding the spectacular efforts of the students, he said that the automobile industry offers endless scope to the bright and dexterous students. Mesmerized by the beauty of the car and feeling proud of the achievement of Amitians, Mr. Chauhan said that it is the aim of Amity to promote the talent amongst its students by providing them necessary research oriented and state- of the art infrastructure and financial support so that students can bring laurels to their country and to their nation. Amity has taken several initiatives in this direction and will continue to do so in future also. Talking about the Car he said that in a time when cost of transport is skyrocketing, the Amity Hybrid Car can bring a sigh of relief to many people because of its low price and multiple fuel options. It will reduce the traveling cost and of course pollution which is strangling human beings. He opined that though the car is presently in an elementary stage of its functioning but it can be produced commercially with new enhancements and improvements.

The budding mechanical engineers spoke about their project and varied experiences in the fabrication and designing of the car. The group comprises of ten students namely M. Pavan ,Abhay Goyal, Himanshu Gupta, Abhishek Kashyap Kamal Shamnani, Nakul Gupta, Chanderkant Suman, Varun Chawla, , Paras Khanna, Udit Dhingra; supported by Mr. Keshvendra Choudhary; Prof. S B L Garg- HOD, Mechanics and Automation Department, ASET as mentor and Mr. Arun Jindal as Project Guide. Team leader M. Pavan extended his gratitude to Dr. Chauhan and Mr. Atul Chauhan without whose immense support and guidance the project would not have taken a shape.
