Ensuring Healthy Lives & Promoting Well-Being – Community Sports Integration at Amity University Haryana

Amity University Haryana actively promotes health, fitness, and community well-being throughout the year by regularly sharing its sports facilities with children and youth from neighbouring villages. In alignment with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), the university has institutionalised a continuous outreach programme through which local schoolchildren and community groups are invited to use AUH sports grounds for structured fitness activities, athletics, drills, and outdoor training.

Throughout the year, children from nearby villages including Gwalior, Kukrola, Fazalwas, Bhaganki, Kherkhi and surrounding rural settlements regularly participate in morning and evening sports sessions conducted on campus. These sessions include:

  • Athletics and sprint training
  • Group fitness exercises
  • Warm-up drills and stretching
  • Sports awareness and discipline-building activities
  • Guided physical education sessions led by university trainers

The university’s football fields, athletic tracks, open green grounds, and multi-purpose spaces are consistently made accessible to the community, ensuring that young children many of whom lack sports infrastructure in their villages have the opportunity to play, exercise, and build strong physical and mental health.

This long-term engagement has strengthened the bond between the university and its neighbouring communities, fostering a culture of fitness, discipline, and well-being. Through this regular practice, Amity University Haryana demonstrates its ongoing commitment to SDG 3 by ensuring that quality sports and recreational facilities are shared beyond the campus and benefit the wider public throughout the year.
