Six-Day Faculty Development Programme commences at Amity
Amity University Uttar Pradesh has organized a six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Augmenting Today’s Educators for Digital Natives” from 30th June to 5th July 2025, under the UGC Quality Mandate GURU-DAKSHTA (Module III- Teaching, Learning and Assessment). The programme has been designed to empower AUUP faculty members of its three campuses Noida, Greater Noida and Lucknow, with innovative teaching methodologies, instructional design models, and use of AI & other digital tools in Teaching , Learning & Assessment in Higher Education.
The inauguration was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, who emphasized the importance of preparing educators to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving, technology-driven educational landscape while remaining deeply rooted in Indian values. She also reflected upon the vision of the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh and the Hon’ble Vice President of India, which was shared during the recently held AIU National Vice Chancellors Conference at Amity University Noida on 23rd & 24th June 2025. She highlighted how implementing green- driven initiatives and creating an affirmative ecosystem that supports the holistic development of students, play a pivotal role in contributing towards the realization of India’s vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 and transforming Bharat into a “Vishwaguru”, a global knowledge leader. She also emphasized the various Government initiatives in digital education including Sawayam, PMeVIDYA, Diksha and VidyaDaan. Dr. Shukla ended her address by emphasizing upon Community Service Responsibility as highlighted by Hon’ble Governor of UP.
The welcome address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Alpana Kakkar, Dean – Student Support and Academic Affairs & Programme Director, who outlined the objectives of the FDP and emphasized the critical need for blending the timeless wisdom of the “Indian Knowledge System (IKS)” with modern pedagogical practices, in line with the vision of NEP 2020. She said that the Programme has witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculties across disciplines, reinforcing Amity University’s commitment to academic excellence, continuous learning, and capacity building, focussing on areas such as AI integration in education, innovative assessment strategies, and outcome-based teaching approaches to equip educators for the future.
During the six-day FDP, 29 Sessions will be held, wherein National & International Experts of repute from University of Hawaii, NCERT, NIEPA, IGNOU, Aligarh Muslim University , SBPU , Pune, Central Universities and Assessfy from New York , will be joining as speakers for Augmenting the Educators for Digital Natives.
