World Physiotherapy Week celebrated at Amity
Amity Institute of Health Allied Sciences (AIHAS), Amity University Noida is celebrating World Physiotherapy Week 2025, from 8th-12th September 2025. The event aims to raise awareness about the vital role of physiotherapy in promoting health, mobility, and independence for people of all ages.
Highlighting the role of Physiotherapy, Dr. V P Gupta, Member, National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions, New Delhi, averred, “Physiotherapy helps alleviate pain and discomfort associated with injuries, chronic conditions, or surgeries. It also improves mobility, providing the patients with strength, stamina and flexibility, enabling them to perform daily activities with greater ease. Therefore, physiotherapists must be skilled and knowledgeable so that they can do justice to their profession and dedicate themselves to the service of society.”
Sharing his views, Dr. Mayank Sharma, Director, Goal Oriented Physiotherapy, Noida, stated, “Muscular and pint pains are no longer age-related issue. People of all age grous are going through pains in different parts of their body due to incorrect posture, increased screen time, sitting for long hours, etc. Physiotherapy is an essential component of healthcare, helping individuals recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and maintain optimal function and mobility. It is the responsibility of Physiotherapists to treat their patients with utmost care and attention.”
Prof (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in healthcare, offering numerous benefits for individuals with various body pains and injuries. Physiotherapists play a crucial role in helping patients achieve optimal movement, function, and quality of life and therefore, they must be equipped with the advanced line of treatment.”
Prof. (Dr.) Jasobanta Sethi, Director, AIHAS, said, “There are many muscular pains which cannot be cured only by medicine. Physiotherapists evaluate movement, function, and mobility to identify issues and develop treatment plans, which are effective in treating various types of muscular pains caused by muscle imbalances or poor posture.”
During the World Physiotherapy Week, a Panel Discussion on “Healthy Aging”, Guest Lectures, Physiotherapy Camps for faculty, staff, and students and a Physiotherapy Camp at Wazidpur Village, will be organized.
