About the Speaker:
Mr. Satyen Gupta is a postgraduate from IISc, Bangalore. He worked in Wireless Planning and Coordination wing of Ministry of Communication in early 80s. In 1983 he joined IRSSE Cadre of Western Railway. Up to August, 2000, he was Heading IRCON's first "BUILD-OWN-OPERATE" based Optical Fiber Project between Mumbai and Delhi and also the ISP Project. Till Nov.2006, he worked as Principal Advisor with Telecom Regulatory Authority of India at the level of Additional Secretary and headed the Fixed Network Division incl. Bangalore Section Interconnection, IN, IPLC, ILDO, NLDO. At TRAI he handled the NGN consultation process as well as reviewed the ITU Regulatory Reforms in NGN Era, publication. He has been conducting NGN workshops throughout the world on behalf of ITU, CTO, IEEE, IETE and NGN Forum and known as Mr. NGN in the International Circles. He is the founder Secretary General of NGN Forum, India and also author of book titled "Everything Over IP-All about NGN". Mr. Gupta was awarded the Minister of Railways award for the outstanding performance during 1995-96.
