It is a matter of great pride that Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) is organizing the 12th edition of Amity International Model United Nations (AMIMUN'23) on the theme "Via Ad Mollitiam: Hope, Resilience and Shared Sovereignty," from Friday, 20 January to Sunday, 22 January 2023, in hybrid mode. Over the years, AMIMUN has become a melting pot where young, bright and most innovative minds of different nationalities and states of the country come together and debate, brainstorm and deliberate on the issues of global importance. Such intensive engagement from these ignited minds produces ideas, solutions, and suggestions which become a cornerstone for a better future. The mission and aim of AMIMUN very much aligns with the philosophy of Amity where students are not only infused with values and Sanskars but are also exposed to different cultures all over the world so that they become ideal global citizens with deep sense of respect for different cultures and beliefs. I am sure that in the most vibrating and exciting atmosphere of Amity, AMIMUN'23 will encourage these young delegates, brimming with refreshing enthusiasm and infectious energy, to immerse themselves to find solutions to regional and international problems through intensive debates, tactful diplomacy and negotiations.

The theme efficiently encapsulates the notion of shared sovereignty and a sense of belonging to a community for the world in which we reside. AMIMUN'23 seeks to present a worldwide viewpoint through a space where the young assume the responsibility to rise from the myriad of issues and find a solution, constructing harmonious relations for security, social advancement, better expectations of the world and common liberties.
AMIMUN brings together diverse members in an increasingly interdependent world to discuss, deliberate and end up with collective decisions, ensuring the opportunity for the amelioration of all. These discussions and deliberations amongst the leaders of tomorrow pose to be the foundation stone towards edifying their contemporary minds and honing their already notable outlooks on diverse adversities. The international sphere has faced and overcome unprecedented arduous situations in this new normal.
... AMIMUN is a platform to transform learning into actual execution, with its worldwide recognition and proud status as one of the top MUNs across the continent. A Model United Nations is a scholarly simulation of an actual United Nations conference, where the delegates assume the roles of state and non-state actors in the international sphere. By representing their allotments, the feeling of empathy and social responsibility, which comes undeniably with leadership, is inculcated in the students. MUNs are student-led and oriented, providing students with indelible learning and leadership experiences and cultivating their diplomacy and negotiation skills. Individuals develop leadership, research, writing, public solving, and problem-solving skills by engaging in these.
AMIMUN has acted as an aid for participants residing domestically and abroad to observe the unparalleled relevance of the United Nations and its work while partaking in conciliatory conversations on current real-world issues. By deliberating upon the uncomfortable topics that even nations cannot, the participants are placed at the centre of the simulation of an organisation to resolve global issues. A comprehensive understanding of a country's foreign policy, the factors which influence its behaviour internationally, its background, history, and treatment in the UN, along with the previous resolutions passed on it, will be instilled. Applying this comprehensive understanding will develop an astute analytical ability, allowing the participants to examine the concerns of their allotted country and that of the rest, past precedents, and potential solutions to the designated agenda.
AMIMUN holds onto its belief in perseverance as it hosts varied university participants worldwide. I extend my best wishes to the delegates and wish them a great learning experience. We are honoured to welcome you to the 12th edition of Amity International Model United Nations (AMIMUN’23), being held from the 20th to the 22nd of January 2022. AMIMUN’23 promises to be a Model UN conference that unites individuals from across the globe and upholds the mission of providing the delegates with a platform through which they can present their views on global issues and strive towards the promotion of international peace. Furthermore, the conference will also aim to enlighten them about the work of the United Nations through cooperation and diplomacy. At Amity University, we always strive to go above and beyond in developing skills such as teamwork, leadership, expository and persuasive writing, and debating and negotiation skills which are essential for personal development and future success. Through this conference, the delegates will interact with students from various countries and diverse backgrounds and be exposed to many new ideals and beliefs. We also aspire to ensure that the delegates, through three days of constant discourse, can expand their knowledge severalfold, learn the art of diplomacy through tackling such issues which plague modern society, and come up with solutions for the same.
AMIMUN’23 will serve as a springboard for a more optimistic future for the world and its youth. In this “learning by doing” approach, students roleplay as diplomats and world leaders and participate in critical decision-making processes in the international affairs arena through the Model UN program. This primary source engagement leads to a better understanding of global issues and the context in which they are negotiated and resolved.

My name is Adisree Telem and I’m a philosophy graduate and a final year law student at Amity Law School. I have been involved with MUNs for a little over 9 years now, and I believe I was lucky to have been through this excellent journey, having learnt essential life lessons. I started my tryst with AMIMUN in 2023 edition, as an OC member in the marketing team and it was there that I learnt the importance of firm focus on our target. We worked towards making AMIMUN’23 the biggest pan-India conference and we are determined to better our own selves and our own results, cometh AMIMUN’24. Over the years, AMIMUN has grown into one of the most prestigious Model United Nations conferences, attracting delegates from across the globe. We take immense pride in providing a platform for young minds to delve into the complex and vital work of the United Nations, engaging in meaningful dialogues about the pressing global challenges that confront our world today.
