It is Amity’s continued efforts to nurture the talent of Indian youth in all areas including academics, arts, music and sports. Amity United football Club ( AUFC ) enjoyed the privilege of playing a match with the National Indian Football Team XI at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. This was an occasion to give young boys of Amity Team an opportunity to showcase their talent and to further develop their skills amongst healthy competition.
The match was won by National Indian Team with a marginal scope of 1-0 in which Amity United Football Team put up a brave fight and made opportunistic counter-attacks. AUFC had been invited to play this match with the Indian Football XI in their run-up to the forthcoming Asia Cup Game taking place against Japan later this month and against Yemen in March. The match was played under flood-lights. Both teams were excited to play the match especially when both were tough, strong and striving for victory. AUFC within a short span of time has shown promise and tremendous potential having more than 15 prestigious tournaments in several states including winning the Haryana Football League in 2006.
Mr. Aseem Chauhan, Founder, Amity United Football Club conveyed his good wishes to the Indian team for the forthcoming tournaments and announced to promote more sports events in Amity to encourage sportsmen rise to the national and international levels. Founder President of the Amity Group, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, National Coach Mr. Syed Nayeemuddin, AUFC Chief Coach, Mr. Prashar and Coach Mr. Hans Raj studied in detail the movements of the players and advised the AUFC team to play better next time.
