Public Events-Life Long Learnings

The university actively fosters a culture of learning and community engagement by providing free access to a variety of educational resources. This includes webinars, guest lectures, conferences, and counselling sessions that are open to the public. Such events are either pre-scheduled or organized on an ad hoc basis, catering to various contemporary topics and interests.

These events not only enrich the learning experience but also encourage community involvement and awareness on various pressing issues. The university continues to adapt its programming to align with the needs and interests of the community, thus promoting lifelong learning and engagement.

The primary objective of organizing such programs at the university is to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on areas such as digital literacy, education, mental health, well-being, environmental conservation, and climate change for empowering participants to become advocates for positive change within their communities.

Event Title: Psychological First Aid

Brief about the event: The Psychological First Aid Workshop was held on 15.02.2024 at Block-A Auditorium to train participants in providing immediate psychological support during crises. Significant topics included Contact and Engagement, Safety and Comfort, Stabilization, Information Gathering, Practical Assistance, and Social Support Linkages.

Event Title: Hands of Workshop on Introduction to Neuroscientific tools in Psychology

Brief about the event: Mr. Siddharth Shahi conducted a workshop highlighting the use of EEG and GSR technologies. Participants explored brainwave patterns—delta, theta, alpha, beta, and gamma—through live EEG demonstrations and learned their significance in understanding human responses. The session also introduced eye-tracking as a tool to study unconscious feedback. Engaging activities like music listening, solving a Rubik’s cube, and painting showcased brainwave variations.

Event Title: Celebration of World Creativity & Innovation Day – ‘Strokes & Threads’ – Where Art Meets Fashion

Brief about the event: Incorporating Skills to make a student market ready in the field of contact lens and applying soft skills into Clinical Practice. Being a pioneer in CL market, B+L motivates students to learn and provide free trial lenses for the student to do a hands-on practice of CL handling and wear here in our Amity clinics itself. Event Title: National Nutrition Week 2023 (1st-6th September 2023)

Brief about the event: This week long event was held on 4th September 2023 under the guidance of Dr. Luxita Sharma for National Nutrition Week, featuring diet counselling and assessments. B.Sc. Dietetics students guided peers from other institutions with personalized diet plans. A Nutrition quiz, poster competition, and recipe contest were organized on 5th–6th September. Twelve teams participated, with winners including Mr. Dhananjay & Ms. Kajal Dhama (1st), Ms. Anishka & Ms. Versha (2nd), and Mr. Sidhartha & Ms. Tanya Malhotra (3rd).

Brief about Event: AUH hosted distinguished Ramalingaswamy fellowship awardee Dr. Soumitra Mohanty on 29th September 2023. Dr. Mohanty toured the AUH campus and the Amity Institute of Biotechnology research labs: Bionova, CIRF and LRF. Dr. Mohanty’s expertise lies in uropathology and his association with the infectious biology cluster at AIB holds immense potential.
