Amity Institute of Pharmacy, under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus organized a guest lecture on “Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning Awareness" on 11th August 2023. The event started with the facilitation of the honourable guests with planters by Prof (Dr.) Anuradha Mishra, Director-AIP, AUUP, Lucknow Campus, followed by her welcome address to the gathering.
The event advanced with the presentation by the speaker Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, Senior Scientist, Academic Affairs Unit & In-charge, Print, Electronic & social media CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. He explained the various opportunities available in the Pharma sector and explained the importance of drug discovery and development. He explained how the process of drug development which takes 20 years to develop a drug can be curtailed by the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Thereafter, Mr. Shubham Londhe, Senior Software Engineer, Vamstar, UK based Healthcare Company presented his views on use of AI in pharmaceuticals. He explained that traditional drug discovery is a time-consuming and expensive process. AI can analyse vast data, including genetic information, molecular structures, and clinical trial results, to identify potential drug candidates more efficiently. This can significantly speed up the drug discovery process and lead to the identification of new treatments for various diseases. He showed how AI software such as Poised, Mintify, Humata, Midjourney can be successfully utilized to save the time for research and development.
During the presentation the students also asked their doubts related to the title of the lecture and all of them found it very useful for their future. The speaker cleared all the doubts asked by students. The event ended with the vote of thanks offered by Dr. Zeeshan Fatima.
