Amity Institute of Pharmacy, under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, conducted a Plantation Drive on 21st September 2023 in the medicinal garden of AIP, AUUP, Lucknow Campus.There was a brief address from (Prof.) Dr. Anuradha Mishra, Director, AIP, AUUP, Lucknow Campus. Then Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Kumar (Retd) was welcomed, and he addressed the students about the importance of medicinal plants. Prof. Rajesh K. Tiwari, Dean Academics and Professor of Biotechnology, graced the students and gave them an understanding of primary and secondary metabolites present in plants thus proving their therapeutic potential. This event aimed to provide students with an opportunity to acquire information pertaining to medicinal plants and their respective applications. The study of the morphological and microscopical characteristics of plant species might provide significant advantages for students. The institution supplied the students with medicinal plants, which they were obligated to cultivate inside the herbal garden.The selection of plants was made on the basis of their medicinal effectiveness, altitude, and inclusion in the curriculum.
