Amity University Innovation, “Ami Aqua Tester”, transferred to the industry for the benefit of common masses

DST -Amity Technology Enabling Centre (TEC), Amity University Noida, hosted a product launch ceremony for the device ‘Ami Aqua Tester for Detection of Chromium in Water’, developed by Dr. V.K. Jain Distinguished Scientist & Professor, Amity Institute of Advanced Research and Studies (AIARS) (Materials and Devices) and his team.

DST-Amity TEC facilitated transfer of this device to a Ghaziabad based Startup, M/s Glorisa Technovation Private Limited on June 20, 2023 ensuring seamless progression and commercialization, underscoring the collaborative efforts between research institutions and private enterprises in advancing technology for the societal benefit.

Expressing his pleasure on launching the product, Mr. Sandeep Agarwal, Co-Founder & Director, Glorisa Technovation India Private Limited, said, “Glorisa Technovation is extremely delighted to launch the product, Ami Aqua Tester, which will be very useful in testing chromium in water and make it safe for drinking. Amity has a very professional research environment, and it has been a wonderful experience working with Amity scientists as they are very helpful and cooperative and always suggest solutions for overcoming various challenges while developing a new product.”

 

 

 

Explaining about ‘Ami Aqua Tester for Detection of Chromium in Water’, Dr. V.K. Jain, Distinguished Scientist & Professor, AIARS(M&D), asserted, “It is a great day for us since our technology has taken the shape of a product and will be available for the end users. This revolutionary device detects chromium in water, presenting a vital solution for ensuring water safety. 'Ami Aqua Meter' is the first -of- its kind portable and low-cost device that provides both qualitative and quantitative results. Further, DST-Amity TEC is extending its support to increase its spectrum to detect other heavy metals also.”

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “It is a matter of extreme pleasure that the product developed by Dr. V.K. Jain and his team has been developed further and the final product has been launched today for societal benefit.  India will become a manufacturing hub in the next few years and new technologies and products will contribute to the scientific development of the country.”

Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Chairman, Directorate of Innovation and Technology Transfer (DITT), stated, “Amity University is the cradle of innovation wherein great scientists, and Amity scientists work hard day and night to develop path-breaking innovations and contribute to nation building. Research and patents should culminate into technology or products which can benefit the masses.”

Also present on the occasion were Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Deputy Director General, Amity Foundation for Science Technology and Innovation Alliance (AFSTIA), Dr. Gopal Bhushan, Deputy Director General, Amity Directorate for Science and Innovation (ADSI). and Dr. A.K. Singh, Senior Vice President, AFSTIA, along with other scientists and faculty of Amity.
