Pre-Primary Sports Day celebrated at Amity International School, Noida

On 16th December 2006, Amity International School, Noida celebrated the Pre-Primary Sports Day; with vivid colour, fanfare and fair play. The Nursery and KG children put up an extraordinary show to the unique theme of the day – “AE MERE WATAN, TUJHE SALAAM" and participated in various drills, displays, and relay races - all expressing their immense love for the Motherland.

The Chief Guest, Shri R.K.S. Rathore, SSP, Gautam Budh Nagar, lit the ceremonial lamp amidst the chanting of Shlokas to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. Shri Rathore released the white pigeons as a mark: of "Shubh Aramb" or auspicious take off and declared the event open. He addressed the dignified gathering, touched by the children's creativity and passion.

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation and Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools, other member of the Amity Family and Heads of Amity Institutions graced the occasion.

In her Welcome Address, Principal, Mrs. Mohina Dar encouraged all her students to be true patriots as she reiterated, "It is the strong resolve, the sheer fortitude and tenacity to stay together and overcome all obstacles is what makes me proud to be an Indian." Meanwhile, Headmistress, Mrs. Roopma Singh presented the Annual Report to justify how "each member of the Amity Family is walking hand in hand to fulfill the vision of the Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan of India as a super power by the year 2030." The school field was ablaze with colour depicting India, the land of myths and mysteries, colour and contrasts, plenty and possibilities.

Swagatam - the welcome song had music satisfying the hearts and minds, delving deep into the realms where emotion and intellect combine. The relay races had some interesting events such "Unity in Diversity," "Om Shanti Om" (Peace Race), “Our Sporty Indians" and "Secular India." Meanwhile, Yog Gyan showcased perfect mastery for the all-round development of the little Amitians. Lehrate Tiranga (Flag Drill), Amity Ke Angan Mein Khil Hain Kamal (Lotus Drill) and Nachte Mor (peacock Dance)depicted our National Symbols. Fusion - an amalgamation of three diverse disciplines – karate, gymnastics and aerobics along with certain skill games (badminton, hockey, cricket, basketball, football and tennis) denoted expertise and shadow practice. The Grand Finale - AE MERE WATAN TUJHE SALAAM - was what the Cheering crowd had been impatiently waiting for. A song bearing the theme title had specially been scripted to embody just how incredible India is. The finale rested with thoughts of our children awakening to a new day, with renewed promise, resilience, an endeavour to learn from our glorious past while keeping the spirit of patriotism, secularism and love for the Motherland alive in the hearts and souls.

In her Vote of Thanks, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, expressed jubilation and exuberance by the innovative and inspiring performance of her "smallest" Amitians.
