PRESS CONFERENCE FOR BIOCICON 2019

Amity University Chhattisgarh is organising the 6th Bio-pesticide International Conference (BIOCICON) in collaboration with St. Xavier’s College Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu from 06th – 08th March 2019. The conference has got sponsorship from Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology (CG COST) Raipur. In the second day of the International Conference, Amity University Chhattisgarh conducted the technical sessions in the campus. Higher officials of the university also conducted a Press Conference at the Hotel Babylon Inn, Raipur.

The Chancellor of Amity University Chhattisgarh Dr. W. Selvamurthy while addressing the media said that the International Conference “BIOCICON” is aimed towards finding a balance between human health and use of pesticide in agriculture. He mentioned that the chemical based pesticide have adverse impact on human health and causes various diseases, which can be resolved by the use of bio-pesticide. The research on the development of effective bio-pesticide to compete conventional pesticide demands intensive scientific research. He, thus, emphasised on the point that effective and innovative approaches will be the guiding force in this field. In addition to this, the present conference marks a mile stone in the field of bio-pesticide which connected various researchers across the globe who deliberated on the recent developments, future prospects and associated challenges of bio-pesticide. Vice-Chancellor of Amity University of Chhattisgarh also encouraged the youth of Chhattisgarh to actively participate in the latest technological innovations in the field of agriculture and bio-pesticides.

Hon’ble Chancellor, Amity University Chhattisgarh and Former Scientist DRDO Dr. W.Selvamurthy, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Chhattisgarh Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Pandey, Director AIB cum Convener of the Conference Prof. (Dr.) R.K.Singh and Organising Secretary Dr. K.Sahayaraj of St.Xavier's College, Tamilnadu and Senior officials were also present during the session.
