Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates 70th Independence Day

The patriotic fervor of the students

The 70th Independence Day of the Country was celebrated with patriotic fervour on 15th August 2016 at Amity University Madhya Pradesh.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt. Gen V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.)This was followed by his address to the Amitians. Gen. Sharma congratulated the Amity family on the occasion of the 70th Independence Day and helped the audience recall the price of that freedom. He spoke of the wars that the nation has had to fight since independence and how the integration of the states was attained. “Freedom has come to at a price. It is our bounden duty to respect and preserve it”, he said.

Gen. Sharmas address was followed by the rendition of three patriotic poems by students of ASET and the staging of a street play by the Eco Club, Amity University Madhya Pradesh.

Present on the occasion were the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr) M. P. Kaushik, Registrar, Deans, Directors, HoIs, HoDs, Faculty &Staff members as well as large body of students.

The programme culminated with the distribution of sweets.
