Mr. Bishwanath Ghosh, Chief Information Officer, Mahindra and Mahindra graced the occasion of “Technicia 2K18” with his august presence as Chief Guest and Key Note Speaker.

In his Inaugural address, he presented a very apt, informative and interesting presentation on Disruption and Disruptive thinking and how it is important to sustain in the changing times. It was a great learning and inspiration for our students. He also visited our various Labs  in ASET and encouraged our students & faculty with his kind words regarding their work. He was keen to see the various projects and models made by students.

A brief snapshot of his presentation –

He started through the introduction of transport systems from the 1900's when there were very less automobiles and only horse driven carriages till the year 1930 where it got reversed where there were only cars and an ignorable number of horse driven carriages due to the significant invention of a mechanical motor car by Mr. Henry Ford, which were in mass production on the assembly line.

Henceforth from the 1940's the industrial revolution started and the change in technology started, where in the  motor vehicles started becoming more cheap and went into mass production as many citizens could afford it. Which led to a change in the world economy and dynamics.

During the cold war the race to space was speeding between the most nations and mainly USA & USSR were leading the quest, when USSR placed the 1st animal a dog named as Lyka in space and then a human Mr. Yuri Gargin in space. This drove the US to think ahead and plan for taking the Man to the Moon which was achieved in 1969 when Mr. Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, mentioning a small step for man and a large step for mankind.

This started the quest for energy and renewable energy through various means using the new technologies which were available at a cheap cost. Thus the word recyclable energy came into being and we used cells and fuels which were green and recyclable.

Now the future is to use the natural resources which are available in abundance like wind and sunlight to generate power, and change the mode of transportation where we move on from diesel and petrol driven cars to electric cars which more environment friendly and better in all the ways.

He concluded by mentioning that Mahindra has already taken the step by launching Reva the electric car which is very economical than the conventional vehicles available and how sustaining in disruption is important.
