 Amity School of Communication, Kolkata organized a two day Faculty Development Program on “Media Education and Industry Interface” in July 2019. The Program, aimed at bridging the gap between Industry and Academia was able to attract an attendance of more than 75 participants mostly teaching professionals from different parts of India, and working journalist from all the corners of the state of West Bengal.  Eminent guests Like Prof. Anand Kumar Pradhan , IIMC Delhi, Ms. Geetika Rustagi, Google News Lab, India,  Mr. Snehasis Sur, Senior TV Journalist, Doordarshan , Mr Arjun Chatterjee, BBC London and TEDx speaker and noted PR professional Sherina Kopany, Co-Founder-Sunstrategic, Mumbai, PR expert Sameer Goswami, Senior academician Dr. B Dasgupta and others graced the program and made the audience aware of the e media trends and future prospects of the same. With years of industry experience, the trainers through prolong deliberations, were able to identify the new age conundrums between the industry and the academic curricula. The participants underwent an interactive and effective training programme to tackle the pertaining gaps and make media students industry ready.
