Training women in areas of group dynamics and confidence building

Over 2500 rural Self Help Group women of Haryana were trained under the Swayamsiddha Scheme of Department of Women and Child Development Haryana, 2004-05. It was a two-day training programme to train the women in the areas of group dynamics and confidence building.

TRAINING OF ANIMATORS

Under the Mahila Mandal SHG scheme of Haryana Women Development Corporation, more than 1500 anganwadi workers were trained as animators for starting and running SHGs in 2006-07. It was a five-day training program to equip these women with the skill of forming such groups and motivating them to take up income generation activities, by instilling confidence and mutual trust in each other in taking group decisions.

The main components of the training consist of group dynamics and confidence building, legal literacy, to deal with exploitation, micro-entrepreneurship development and preparing the groups for bank linkages. One way of improving their access to micro credit is by improving their skills in maintenance of records and registers reflecting their transactions and inter-loaning.

LEGAL LITERACY TRAINING FOR IMPLEMENTORS OF SWAYAMSIDDHA, 2006

AHF conducted a one-day legal literacy awareness programme for the implementers of Swayamsiddha in Punjab University, Chandigarh, under the aegis of Department of Women and Child Development Haryana, with an aim to sensitise rural women about their rights and empower them to fight against social evils.

Apart from the actual training, in order to ensure an overall development of the trainees, special soft skill classes are also incorporated, with a long term perspective of maintaining quality in business relations with clients.
